Morning Classes

Small classes of 6-10 students. NZQA accredited English language courses from elementary to advanced levels. The courses cover grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening and speaking. Structures are studied in authentic context and practicised in a communicative way. So the classes are fun and the content useful and easy to remember. Accuracy and fluency are developed simultaneously. There is regular homework, and written and oral assessments and written school reports every 6 weeks.

Afternoon Classes: Communication Skills

These courses focus on confident interpersonal and functional English communication in real life situations. There are 4 levels and a different theme each week (for example "work and business"; "health and psychology"; "holidays and travel"). There is an emphasis on listening, fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary and idioms.

EAP: IELTS Exam Preparation Courses

Full-time intensive 12 week courses (2* 6 week modules) from high intermediate level.

IELTS is essential for those who wish to go on to tertiary study in New Zealand - or Australia and Britain. In addition, the course is ideal for anyone wishing to improve all "EAP" skills. IELTS is also a requirement for immigration to New Zealand. We are IELTS Preparation specialists, with a proud history of wonderful results. The course is lead by an IELTS examiner.

The course covers all the 55 key skills you need to achieve your best in the IELTS reading, writing, listening and speaking modules. This includes all the key vocabulary on the common IELTS topics and daily homework. Weekly practice tests enable you to track your progress, and to determine whether you are ready to sit the formal IELTS examination. Although the content of the exam is always different, as an IELTS examiner Sara can give you an accurate indication of your level of writing and speaking, and the skills you need to work on most to improve your performance.

There is also a part-time evening course (4 hours weekly) for those who are busy during the day.

Business English + TOEIC - Afternoon Option

New TOEIC Course Starts 20th September

Business English is available for students at intermediate level and above. 2 modules: each 10 hours per week for 6 weeks. An opportunity to advance your career - gaining the English vocabulary and skills you need for the business world.

Business Skills practised include managing telephone calls, CVs, job interviews, meetings, presentations, negotiating & decision making. Topics include globalisation, marketing, employment, trade, finance, technology, competition and management. Each week will include 2 case studies based on real companies. The course is suitable for preparation for employment and/or Cambridge Business English Certificate Examinations.

You may also require a strong TOEIC result for employment opportunities back home. A 6 week, 24 hour 'after school' course covering TOEIC test skillls and practice tests is provided free for full-time General English and Business English students. (You will gain the grammar you require in morning class, and the vocabulary in the afternoon).
